Why have we decided to use SmartPCN within ALSTOM?
Obsolescence management has long been associated with electronic component obsolescence, but now it can apply to all items. All products can be impacted, and deploying SmartPCN makes it easy to set up an automated alert recording process and update information on our IT tools. Linking external information to our internal data in a fast, reliable, reproducible way without human intervention is a huge gain. Once an alert linked to our products has been validated, we have the possibility of communicating this information in SmartPCN format to our customers by integrating customer specific information on impacted products.
